Welcome Pastor Sam Hinkson!

HFBC would like to introduce you to Pastor Sam Hinkson, our new Senior Pastor!

You can view the Livestream service, that includes Pastor’s Sam’s sermon, on our Facebook page or on our Vimeo page. (His sermon begins at around the 43 minute mark on the video.)

A little about our new pastor:
Sam was born in Arlington, Texas.

He and his wife Heather were married in 1995 and they have 3 adult children. The oldest is Abigail Louise Nall. She is married to Kent and they have a daughter, Gabriella.

Sam and Heather also have twin sons: Ethan Kent, who is engaged to be married to Brooke this December, and Clark Stephen, who is engaged to be married to Emily in May, 2021.

He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in History in 1995, then served as a captain in the Marine Corps for almost 10 years before resigning his commission to attend seminary.

“Sam is the most prayerful pastor I have ever served with.
I often would find him on his knees in his office.”

– Michael Norton, Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church

Sam is an expositional preacher. His passion is to lead a church to develop a growing discipleship culture in which members are challenging and encouraging one another to learn Jesus in a transformational way.

He said in his recent letter to our church: “Our hearts and minds must be informed by the Scripture, so that we think in accordance with the pattern of sound teaching. Additionally, our lives and habits must be patterned on imitating the life and ethics of Jesus. It is summed up in 1 Corinthians 11:1, ‘Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.’”
