God’s People BEING Preserved
v. 2a “God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew.” (esv)
v. 3 “… I alone am left, and they seek my life.” (esv)
v. 4 “I have kept for myself seven thousand men …” (esv)
Isaiah 43.12–13 “I am God … there is none who can deliver from my hand; I work, and who can turn it back?” (esv)
v. 5 “So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.” (esv)
Men’s Hearts BEING Hardened
v. 7 “Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened …” (esv)
