WE’RE WARNED OF MISPLACING OUR CONFIDENCE BECAUSE …           

“WE WON’T ACCEPT How The World Works”                   

v. 5 Do you think that mere words are strategy and power for war?” (esv)

“WE’RE ON THE Wrong Side Of History

v. 12 “… the men sitting on the wall … are doomed with you …” (esv)       

v. 18 Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?” (esv)

v. 16 “Make your peace with me and come out to me.” (esv)  

“WE’RE TOO Rigid In Our Beliefs

v. 7 “… isn’t [the LORD our God] the one whose high places and altars Hezekiah removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, ‘You must worship before this altar’?” (niv)

“WE’RE JUST Playing The Religious Game

v. 20 “Who among all the gods of these lands have delivered their lands out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?” (esv)

v. 10 Do not let the god you depend on deceive you …” (niv)

OUR RESPONSE?    WE TRUST THE GOD WHOSE Mission Never Fails

v. 20 “… save us from his power so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, LORD, are God—you alone.”(csb)

v. 35 “I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David.” (esv)
