HEROD’S FAILURE TO DEFEAT JESUS SHOWS THAT …
God’s Son IS THE Rightful Ruler
Luke 2.34–35 “Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also) …” (esv)
v. 13 “… Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.” (esv)
Matthew 10.34 “Don’t assume that I came to bring peace on the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.”(csb)
v. 15 “This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, ‘Out of Egypt I called my son.’” (esv)
Our Joy IS HIS Lasting Legacy
