Nehemiah 4.1-15

vv. 6-7a “… we built the wall … for the people had a mind to work. But when …” (esv) 

WE FEEL LIKE GIVING UP BECAUSE OF …

Fatigue 

v. 10a “The strength of those who bear the burdens is failing.” (esv) 

Frustration 

v. 10b “There is too much rubble.” (esv) 

Fatalism

v. 10c “By ourselves we will not be able to rebuild the wall.” (esv) 

Fear

v. 11 “Also our enemies said, ‘Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work.’” (niv)

WE GAIN STRENGTH TO GO ON AS WE …   

** Appeal To God AS WE Act

v. 9 “… we prayed to our God and set a guard as a protection against them day and night.” (esv) 

**  Find New Ways AS A Family

v. 13 “… at the vulnerable areas. I stationed them by families …” (csb) 

v. 14 “Do not be afraid … fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.” (esv)   

Philippians 2.4 “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (esv)

**  Think Of God AS HE Is 

v. 14 “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome …” (esv) 

Colossians 1.27 “… Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (esv) If so, He is working.
