HENDERSON’S First Baptist Church is a warm fellowship of Christians from a variety of backgrounds gathering together regularly to worship the Triune God. Our two morning worship services are identical and designed to minister generationally to the entire family. The music is theologically grounded and scripturally guided to promote obedient worship. The style is gospel-centered, using hymns both ancient and modern as well as anthems, choruses, and praise songs led by multiple instruments and vocalists that help guide our multi-generational congregation in confessional expressions of worship.
The preaching at First Baptist is expositional, typically verse-by-verse through books of the Bible and occasionally topical in the form of series as we believe this is the best way to proclaim the centrality of the cross and how God has overcome humankind’s brokenness. All persons who believe may be reconciled to God through glorious union in Christ Jesus.
We believe the best way to learn the Bible…is to be taught the Bible! To this end, the Bible is read, explained, and applied to our contemporary situation so that we understand God’s will for daily living.

As you enter the sanctuary for Sunday services, you’ll be greeted by one of our volunteers and given a bulletin with announcements, information on upcoming events, and if you're a note taker, a place to take notes during the sermon.

Where Do I Park?
We have a large parking lot in the front of the building right off of Center Street. If the front lot looks full, there is parking available on Center Street and Elm Street. There is often parking spots available at the city building on Elm Street.
What Should I Wear?
At First Baptist, people wear a variety of different kinds of clothes. You’ll see everything from t-shirts and tattoos to ties and slacks. We love people regardless of what they look like on the outside, so wear whatever you feel most comfortable wearing to worship. You’ll fit right in.
What Is Available For My Kids?
We love children at First Baptist! We think it’s really special when families worship together. Don’t worry about them being a distraction– children are a blessing from the Lord and our people love seeing little ones in our services! We encourage children to sit with parents in worship services from Kindergarten grade on up. Preschool ministry is available during services.
We offer a Bible-saturated Small Group classes for children and students during the 9:45 hour. Nursery and Preschool ministry are available during all services.
How Long Is The Service?
Our services are around one hour long.
Which Service Is The Best To Attend?
It depends on how early you like to wake up! All of our services are identical in every way, so you can come to any of the services and get the same experience.
What Kind Of Music Do You Sing?
On a given Sunday you might hear a blend of hymns and modern songs. Above all, we seek to glorify God through our singing, carefully choosing songs that are filled with truth, and letting the hope of the Gospel and the presence of the Holy Spirit shape our worship.
Music is an amazing gift from God. It stirs our affections and plants truth deep into our hearts. We want to serve our people with music that is filled with truth, is centered on and shaped by the Gospel, and is done as excellently as we know how.
