ORIGINAL SIN – all people inherit a sinful nature because of Adam’s sin
v. 12 “… sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned …” (esv)
vv. 13–14 “… before the law was given, sin was in the world … death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses …” (niv)
FEDERAL HEADSHIP – one who represents another because of a covenant relationship
v. 14 “… Adam … was a type of the one who was to come.” (esv)

A NEW WAY TO Be Human

v. 16 “… judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation …” (niv)

v. 19 “… by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.” (esv)
v. 15 “But the gift is not like the trespass … the grace of God and the gift which comes through the grace of the one man Jesus Christ overflowed to the many.” (csb)
AN ABUNDANT WAY TO Regain Dominion
v. 20 “Now the law came in to increase the trespass …” (esv)
v. 17 “… because of one man’s trespass, death reigned …” (esv)
vv. 20–21 “… where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (esv)
