Romans 5.20 “But where sin increased, grace increased all the more …” (niv)          

v. 1 “Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?” (esv)

v. 2 “By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?” (esv)

Romans 5.21 “… as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through … Jesus Christ our Lord.” (esv)

WHAT DOES THE LIFE OF A CHRISTIAN LOOK LIKE?

WE IDENTIFY AS New People

v. 3 “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?” (esv)

v. 4 “… just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” (esv)

WE THINK LIKE Free People

v. 11 “So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.” (esv)

v. 6 “… our old self was crucified … that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.” (esv)

v. 9 “… death no longer has dominion over [Jesus].” (esv)

v. 5 “… if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.” (esv)

WE FIGHT LIKE Risen People

v. 12 “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.” (esv)

v. 13 “Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness …” (niv)

2 Corinthians 10.4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.” (esv)
