Home Ministry Outreach-This program, which is headed up by Mrs. Barb Howell, has been very effective in our Senior Adult Ministry. She and her volunteers contact those folks that aren’t able to get out and come to church but need to be checked on an ongoing basis. They deliver our Mature Living magazines monthly, see if they have any needs to take care of and pray with them each visit. Barb and her committee meet quarterly with programs that teach us about the needs of today’s senior adults in order for us to minister more effectively.
Silvertones-Meets on the third Friday of each month in the fellowship hall for a potluck luncheon and an inspirational program that is different each month. We generally run between 50-80 senior adults on a regular basis, and our folx enjoy the food, the fellowship and the spiritual food they get from each meeting. This program not only reaches seniors in our congregation, but throughout the community which fulfills one of our ministry goals as a church.
Silvertones on the Move!!! We take several trips (usually quarterly) to different showcases and venues around the state and on bordering states. Trips such as attending the Derby Dinner Theatre in Clarksville, IN and the Badgett Playhouse Theatre in Grand Rivers, KY are two of our favorite places, especially when we can fit in a bus trip to Patti’s. We usually travel by large bus but COVID-19 has kept us from enjoying these trips this year. We do plan to resume these, maybe December but surely by 2021. Do join us for a great time.
