Dr. Mark Coppenger

Dr. Coppenger brings years of experience to this ministry.  He recently retired from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he taught Christian Philosophy and Ethics.  Other experience includes pastor of First Baptist Church Eldorado, Arkansas, church planter on the north shore of Chicago, executive director for the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana, president of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, short-term missionary, retired Army Infantry, editor of Kairos Journal, BibleMesh, and SBC Life Magazine, and a prolific writer of articles and…
Executive Pastor

Dr. Chuck Henderson

Chuck is our Transitional Executive Pastor, having joined the staff in June of 2020.  He has his Doctor of Ministry in Church Leadership from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Memphis. Jacob Clutts is husband of Mary, and father of Daniel, Nora, & Emily. He is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity) & SIU Carbondale (Bachelor of Science). Director of Preschool & Children’s Ministries

Ellie Coursey

Ellie oversees all preschool and children’s educational programs including Sunday School, Discipleship Training, Missions activities and Vacation Bible School.  Ellie attended Georgetown College and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. After serving as a clinical pharmacist at Deaconess Hospital for 10 years, she sensed the call to ministry and has served children and families at HFBC since 1999. Hispanic Ministry Pastor

Rev. Jonathan Santos

Jonathan is the pastor of our Hispanic worship services. The Hispanic ministry started in 2010 and has a vibrant presence and fellowship here. Jonathan and his wife Laurie live in Henderson and are very active in the Hispanic community here.
Interim Worship Leader

David Hayashi

David comes to serve here with many years of music ministry experience. Currently he is finishing up a Master’s Degree in Church Music at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Before coming to Henderson FBC as Interim Worship Leader David served churches in Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky. Minister of Senior Adults and Pastoral Care

Rev. Alan Chamness

Alan graduated with a Bachelors of Music degree from Union University in Jackson, TN in 1970 and has a Master of Church Music degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He has done additional course work at Southern and at Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago, IL. He also is a published hymn writer with Broadman Press in Nashville, TN.

Rev. Ken Lupton

Ken is our Minister of Education and Evangelism. He is a graduate of Columbia International University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Denise have been married for over 40 years. They have 2 children, 1 grandson, and another grandson on the way in April 2020 that all live in the Louisville, Ky area.
