At HFBC we believe when the church assembles for worship, the Body of Christ enters a holy dialogue with our God, who created and sustains the universe. The Triune God has revealed Himself to us through Scripture and we respond to His revelation – worshiping Him together by means of heart, soul, mind, and strength.

“Our emphasis is to congregationally lift up praises to God.”

We realize our entire lives are meant to be lived as a worshipful response to God. When we assemble as Christ’s church, we worship together differently than we do as individuals, but in equally meaningful ways. Both types of worship are necessary, but they are not the same.

The elements of corporate worship are meant to build up the entire Body of Christ(The Church).  In each of our worship times, we encounter God through Scripture reading and preaching. We sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that are stylistically thoughtful and theologically rich. In gathered worship we express our grateful submission and adoration to God through prayer, giving, celebrating baptisms, and in observing the Lord’s Supper. Preaching God’s Word remains the primary element in gathered worship, but we want the entire service to glorify God and edify the congregation.

“Music is not the only form of worship, but we do consider it vital and important to life of our congregation.”

Musically we incorporate the use of different types of instruments and we are always looking for good players to join our team. Ultimately we emphasize the human voice in singing to our Creator, from soloists to large choirs and ensembles. We are guided in worship by our Celebration Choir, instrumentalist, and our Praise Team on a regular basis. Occasionally we strip our instruments down and are led by only a handful musicians for a true vocal sound.
