At Henderson’s First Baptist Church family is important. God created the institutions of marriage and family so we believe it is the responsibility of the church to do all it can to support, strengthen, and heal Christian homes.
Resources, conferences, events, family discipleship classes, and counseling are available throughout the year for the purpose of developing godly homes.
Children grow up to hold dear the things that their parents show them are important. If television is a daily necessity in the home then the children will grow to love the hypnotizing digital images. If the games of a certain sports team can never be missed in the home then the children will develop an undying devotion to the gods of the gridiron, court, or diamond. If earning money and gaining material wealth is at the top of the parent’s list of priorities, then the children will learn to love the world and its toys.
But if God is loved in the home, if He is worshiped daily as His Word is read and prayers are lifted in His name, then the children will learn to love Him. Every heart is created to love and worship, what it loves and worships is what it is taught to worship. Teach your children’s hearts to love and worship God by leading your family in worship every day.
Family Worship Resources are available in the church office (see the books available by viewing the educational resources tab), and excellent daily family devotions can be accessed at the following wesites:
