Acts 1:8 Missions

“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8)

Henderson’s First Baptist Church is a missional body of believers.  The church body gives 15% of its undesignated offerings to the Cooperative Program, the major missional arm of the Southern Baptist Convention.  The church’s giving ranks consistently in the top 10 of the 2,500 Southern Baptist Churches in KY.  In addition, the church’s members strive to fulfill our Lord’s Great Commission through families and Sunday school classes.

Jesus says in Acts 1:8 that the church is to be His witnesses in the four areas of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth.  We understand these four areas to be the Community, Commonwealth, Country, and Continents.  As such, church members view themselves as missionaries, simultaneously taking the Gospel to these four areas.  All members are challenged to present a yearly Missional Action Plan (MAP) that indicates how they will be missional in these four areas by praying, giving, or going.  Check out some of our trusted missional partnerships by clicking the buttons above.
